The vision
Driven by a constant quest for authentic elegance and a celebration of feminine beauty, René Caovilla crafts utterly evocative, luxurious Made in Italy shoes. In 1968, René Caovilla transformed a Roman snake bracelet into the legendary Cleo design.
Displayed at the MoMA in New York and celebrated as a modern icon, the snake sandal that wraps sinuously around the ankle became a symbol of femininity and an emblem of the maison.
From Venice to the world
The early 2000s marked the opening of exclusive mono-brand boutiques: in Milan’s fashion district, Venice, London, Paris, Las Vegas, the Rinascente corner in Milan, and Miami. Building on its success, the maison expanded in the United States and into China (Taipei, Beijing, and Shanghai), Dubai, and Doha. Today, it boasts over 80 retail locations worldwide.
In 2017, the launch of the online boutique www.renecaovilla.com enabled customers to explore iconic collections, latest releases, news, and exclusive collaborations in luxury Italian shoes.
